Signal Corps Regimental Association – Mt. Rainier Chapter Hosts Quarterly Chapter Meeting and Signal Senior Enlisted Discussion

On April 24th, the Signal Corps Regimental Association’s – Mt. Rainier Chapter convened a gathering of 50 members at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). The quarterly chapter meeting served as a platform to election of new leadership, marking a crucial moment for the association’s direction and impact on JBLMs Signal Community.

Among the highlights of the event was a Signal Senior Enlisted discussion, featuring esteemed leaders such as Command Sergeant Major Daniel Costell from the 22d Corps Signal Brigade, Sergeant Major Katrina Richardson from I Corps G6, CSM Victor Antonetti-Negron from the 1st Mult-Domain Effect Battalion, and CSM Adam Schuessler, the Commandant of the JBLM Non-Commissioned Officer Academy.

The discussion delved into several key topics shaping the landscape of NCO development and the future trajectory of the Signal Corps. From the criteria promotion boards use when considering for NCOs, emphasizing updated records, and the significance of rater/SR comments, to the importance of diversity in assignments, the conversation provided valuable insights into the evolving demands placed on Signal NCOs.

CSM Antonetti provided a comprehensive overview of the mission of the 1st Mult-Domain Effect Battalion, shedding light on its role and impact within the broader context of the Signal Corps. Additionally, discussions also centered on the future of Signal Universities and Soldier training, underlining the critical role of continuing education for all Soldiers in staying abreast of technological advancements and evolving operational requirements.

Also at the event, the chapter presented a Bronze Order of Mercury to the outgoing Vice President, MAJ Chad King. His work was instrumental to the reinvigoration of the chapter and set the foundation for its success into the future.

As the Signal Corps Regimental Association’s Mt. Rainier Chapter looks ahead, the event served as a reaffirmation of its dedication to fostering professional development, collaboration, and innovation among its members. Through such gatherings, the association continues to play a pivotal role in building the community of Signal Soldiers on JBLM.
